MoxibustionMoxibustion

The leaves of artemesia vulgaris (mugwort) are dried and made into a stick known as “Moxa”. When lit this is held and inch or two from the skin to warm acupuncture points. As well as warming the Qi (chi), the aroma of moxa enters the meridians through the skin to stimulate the smooth flow of Qi (chi) and blood.

Traditionally used alongside an acupuncture treatment moxibustion has various approaches such as moxa sticks or cones and is often used for warming needles to help balance the yin and yang, replenishing and revitalising energy.
