Every year smoking results in more than 120,000 deaths in the UK.  The latest research proves that smoking can cut ten years from a natural life-span.  In addition the harmful effects of passive smoking have been proved beyond doubt. In the working environment employers have to take into account the possibility of lost productivity.  This is due to smoking breaks (official and unofficial), the higher risk of increased absenteeism due to smoker-induced ill health.

You may, of course, be one of those companies that already offer help to staff by distributing leaflets or employing a medical professional to give advice. I offer another way, without the use of drugs. Auricular (ear acupuncture) is a highly successful treatment for smoking cessation. It works by encouraging the immune system to detox at a more rapid rate, helping with withdrawal symptoms leaving patients feeling calm and emotionally uplifted.

I can give the treatment at your place of work and depending on numbers, can usually treat staff in groups of up to six at a time; this can even be administered at people’s desks.  Each employee is treated in turn and a talk given at the same time explaining the treatment together with relaxation techniques. The whole treatment for a group should take about 35 minutes.  This can be carried out during a lunchtime, or before or after work and causes minimal disruption.  The treatment would need to be on a regular weekly basis over a period of four weeks. There would need to be two treatments in the first two weeks followed by one a week for the remaining two weeks.

In my clinic a single treatment is normally £35.00 per person, per session. However if there is a group of six people, a special 50% discount price applies.
